Privacy Policy

Mharr India (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://mharrindia.com and related mobile applications (together, the “Platform”), through which we sell groceries and household essentials for delivery to customers in India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights available to you. By creating an account, placing an order, or otherwise using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and contact information: name, mobile number, email address, and password.
  • Delivery information: shipping address, landmark, delivery instructions, and (with your permission) device location, to fulfil grocery deliveries accurately.
  • Order information: items purchased, order value, order history, preferences, and any special instructions (e.g., substitution preferences for out-of-stock items).
  • Payment information: we do not collect or store your card, UPI, net-banking, or wallet credentials. All payments are processed by our payment gateway partner, Razorpay Software Private Limited (“Razorpay”), which is PCI-DSS compliant. We only receive a payment confirmation, transaction ID, and the last four digits of your payment instrument where applicable.
  • Communications: messages you send us via customer support, chat, email, or phone, including call recordings for quality and training purposes where disclosed.
  • Technical information: IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, and cookies/usage data collected automatically when you use the Platform (see Section 5).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process, pack, and deliver your grocery orders, including weight/quantity-based substitutions and delivery-partner coordination.
  • Process payments and refunds through Razorpay and reconcile transactions.
  • Communicate order confirmations, delivery updates, and service notifications via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or push notification.
  • Respond to customer support queries, complaints, and refund/cancellation requests.
  • Improve our product catalogue, delivery slots, pricing, and overall customer experience.
  • Send promotional offers and updates, where you have opted in; you may opt out at any time (see Section 7).
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised transactions, and comply with applicable law.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as necessary with:

  • Razorpay, to process payments, issue refunds, and reconcile settlements.
  • Delivery and logistics partners, to the extent needed to deliver your order (name, address, phone number).
  • Cloud hosting, SMS/email/WhatsApp notification providers, and analytics providers, acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Government authorities or law enforcement, where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets.

4. Data Storage and Security

We store personal data on secure servers located in India and/or with reputable cloud providers, and use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access) to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss, in line with the reasonable security practices required under the IT Act, 2000 and applicable rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations (including tax and consumer-protection record-keeping), and resolve disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Our website and app use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and delivery address, understand how the Platform is used, and personalise offers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some features (such as saved carts or addresses).

6. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older, or by minors only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who holds the account and completes the purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without such consent.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may:

  • Access, review, and correct the personal data in your account profile at any time.
  • Request erasure of your account and associated personal data, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain transaction and tax records.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications by using the “unsubscribe” / “opt-out” option in our messages, or by contacting us.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, as permitted under the DPDP Act, 2023.
  • Lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (Section 9) and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date”.

Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
